Rolling over!

Wills had a milestone yesterday - he rolled over onto his stomach all by himself (no help from me or Tim).

Everything is going great! We are very happy with Wills' daycare - all of the teachers are so sweet and seem to genuinely care about the babies. Wills is still not quite sleeping through the night...We've started letting him sleep from about 7:30 to 10pm, then we wake him up to feed him. That seems to help get him through a longer stretch at night. He didn't really take to the rice cereal, but we are still trying every other day or so.

Fletch is so funny with Wills - you can tell that he realizes he has to be extra careful. And Wills loves to get kisses and licks from Fletch - he just giggles and squeals. Whenever any of us lays on the floor, Fletch has to come right over and sit down - and he always puts his butt right by your head! It's like his way of getting close to you. Don't worry - we made sure he didn't sit right on Wills' head.

Four months old

Wills is 4 months old today! Here are some of the fun things that he is doing:

  • Laughing
  • Squealing
  • Smiling at us and making all kinds of fun sounds
  • Pulling up (when assisted) to stand on his feet
  • Following the sounds of our voices
  • Actively playing with toys (like his activity mat, rattles, mirrors, etc)
  • Reaching out for toys
  • Playing with his feet
  • Drooling a lot
  • Putting his hands in his mouth

He also seems to finally notice Fletch - and they definitely like each other! Check out the video below.

Last time that we visited the doctor, he weighed 14 pounds 2 ounces. He is doing great at day care. My only concern at the moment is that he is no longer sleeping through the night...in fact, we seem to be degressing. He woke up hungry at midnight, 3am, and 6:30am today. Thanks to a suggestion from Tim's mom, we tried rice cereal last night to see if that would help him sleep a little longer at night...but I think it's going to take him a while to like the taste and texture - he didn't really take more than a few drops. We tried again this morning, and will try a little more each day.

A Very Interesting Week

Well, we have had a very interesting week. Last Thursday morning after he ate, Wills threw up - definitely what you would call "projectile" vomit. He was lethargic and just not himself, so we ended up taking him to the pediatrician, who was especially concerned about how lethargic he was. She sent us to the ER around noon. The staff there was wonderful - they took great care of all of us. Wills had bloodwork done, and they also took a urine sample and did xrays of his stomach. He had to wear a little hospital gown - it broke my heart - and he had to have an IV. He handled everything great. His glucose levels were low, but they weren't sure if he had a virus or possibly a UTI, so they gave him saline with glucose and an antibiotic, and finally sent us home around 5pm.

Wills improved immediately, and it turns out he had a virus. We know this for sure because on Saturday, I got sick, and Tim got sick on Sunday. My sweet mom came on Thursday night to help take care of us, and she got sick on Sunday too - so sorry, Mom!

Anyway, all is well now - Wills is back in daycare and doing great - back to his normal self.

Some other exciting news - it is snowing here in Atlanta! Here are some pictures!

15 Weeks Old

So much has happened in the past few weeks...

Wills started daycare and I started back to work - so far, so good. My work schedule has been very accommodating so far - Tim takes Wills in the morning and I pick him up around 5pm. We get home, hang out for a few hours, and put him down between 8 and 9...and he sleeps until we wake him up at 5:30am! He takes about 4 short naps (less than an hour) at daycare, and sleeps soundly at night. We took the plunge last night and put him to bed unswaddled. He didn't sleep quite as soundly (we could here him making noises every couple of hours), but he didn't fully wake up until 5am today. I think the days of swaddling are over!

Here are some pics from the past week...
