Memorial Day at the Beach

Wills loves the beach! We just got back from a long weekend at Edisto with our wonderful friends and their beautiful kids. We had such a great time! Tim and I couldn't believe how much Wills seemed to like the sand (eating it, at least) and the water! We had 8 adults and 6 kids, and it was actually a very relaxing weekend! We've been looking forward to having a "Friends and Family" vacation for several months now. Thanks to the Garvichs, Wilsons, and Russells for spending Memorial Day with us! Here are some pictures from the weekend...

Fletch and his best friend

I got these pics yesterday when Fletch just came and plopped down right beside Wills on the floor. They really do seem to like each other! Wills thinks that Fletch is hilarious, especially when he licks Wills on the face.

This one is really cute, because it's almost like they got bored of each other and moved on to more interesting things.
So, Wills is finally starting to put on some good weight. We took him to the doctor about two weeks ago to get help with a lingering cough and his reflux, and he weighed 17 lbs 10 oz. We took him back one week later for a follow-up and he had gained 1 lb 10 oz! He weighed in at 19 lb 4 oz. He's making up for lost time! Check out that belly!

We went to Aiken for Mother's Day and had a great relaxing weekend. Here is Wills and his Grammy:
And here is Wills and his Great Grammy, Louise!
And here is a cute picture showing you how good his posture is! Also, he has not one but TWO teeth coming in on the bottom, and he tries to chew on just about everything.
Wish us luck over the next week - we think Wills has yet another little stomach bug - he has been throwing up today and we are only giving him Pedialyte. I am going to stay home with him tomorrow. We are headed to Ediso for Memorial Day with some of our college friends and their kids - it is our first family vacation and Wills first time to the beach! We'll have a house full - 4 couples and 6 kids! Hopefully Wills will be back to his normal self by then. I'll post lots of pictures!

What's been going on...

Sorry it's been so long since my last post! Here's a quick recap of what's been going on...

Wills is finally over what turned out to be a kind of long-lasting stomach bug, and he is back to his normal, happy self.
He is babbling up a storm - it's almost like we have little conversations back and forth! He can go from sitting, to on his stomach, then up on all fours - he's almost crawling. His hair is turning blond, and he has one tooth coming in on the bottom. He laughs a lot, and definitely recognizes us when we walk in a room. He is playing with lots of toys - some favorites are squishy blocks, pretend car keys, stackable cars, and the real TV remote control. Tim's mom came down to watch Wills for a few days while I went to Chicago for work, and they had a great time together. Thanks again, Grandma Kathy!

I also gave him a bath in the real bath tub the other night, and it was...hard! We are used to bathing him in the kitchen sink, but I guess that had to stop sometime :)
Here he is zonked out in his swing...

He is also trying some new foods - we gave him some prunes and Tim thought it looked disgusting...but Wills loved them!
