Big girl!

Jules is doing all kinds of stuff:
  • rolling over all ways
  • pushing up while on her tummy - she loves tummy time, unlike her brother!
  • sleeping on her belly
  • reaching for EVERYTHING!
  • grabbing toys and passing them from one hand to another
  • smiling, giggling, razzing (drooling) :)
  • staring (enamored) at her big brother - he can make her smile and laugh better than anyone else!
She is so so close to sitting up on her own!

Picture Update!

We have been busy around here - work, daycare, and rain rain rain! Wills and Jules are doing great - here are some pics of them from the past week. The perfect story to go along with them...tonight, as we put Wills to bed (for like the 9th time, as he keeps getting up to "go potty"), he told me "Mommy, one day, when Jules grows up, she is going to say 'I love you, Wills'...and I am going to say 'I love you, Jules'." How sweet is he???

Cousins :)

We went to Greenville this weekend for Bo's 7th birthday - I can't believe how fast he is growing up! His party was at The Little Gym, and it was a total success - hopefully I'll get more pics from Steph to post. I only got to take a few pics over the weekend before my camera battery died...

Fighting over who gets to hold the baby...

Eating!

Jules is eating all kinds of stuff:
  • rice cereal - loves it
  • oatmeal - loves it
  • green beans - not a fan
  • winter squash - loves it
  • sweet potatoes - loves it
  • pears - likes it
  • peas (yes, peas) - LOVES IT
Wills would never ever even let peas touch his tounge, so imagine my surprise today when Jules gobbled down an entire bowl of peas?

Wills and Mrs. Pteranodon

Now, I have no idea where he got this, but Wills has been calling Jules "Mrs. Pteranodon" all the time lately. Could it be because of the show "Dinosaur Train"? Or because of his absolute favorite puzzle, the dinosaur one that Jax gave him? Regardless, it is really funny and kind of weird :) I guess this name is better than other names he could be calling her. And there is no doubt, he says it with lots of affection.

What did he just say?

Wills has come up with an entirely new vocabulary lately...and I have to say, sometimes I can't believe (and don't like!) what he says! He especially likes potty words right now - especially "poo poo". I swear, if he calls me a "poo-poo" one more time... :) He also comes up with some new words - like "practicy". As in, when going to the potty..."Daddy, give me some practicy, please." I think he has heard us say privacy as well as practice, and got them mixed up. Some other words he has made up are "gidiot" - he says that instead of "idiot" (not sure where he learned "idiot", but I discourage it).

He also told me the other day when I asked to him to get dressed..."Boys don't get dressed. Girls get dressed. Boys get handsome!"

Hanging out

Jules loves to see what's going on around her. Here she is hanging out with Tim and Wills in the playroom.

Jules is eating rice cereal!

Now that Jules is 5 months old, we figured it was time to let her try some real food. Of course, that means rice cereal. Now, I was expecting that it would take at least a few days for her to get the hang of it...boy, was I wrong! She tried it for the 1st time on Saturday, and by Sunday she was literally grabbing the spoon from my hand to get it in her mouth. I looked back to see how it went with Wills when we introduced solids, and saw that we started at about 4 1/2 months. It took him about 2 weeks to really get into it, though.

Day One...First bite:
She likes it!
She really likes it :)

Day Two...Gimme that spoon!
